"If I could change just one thing, I would stop people from beating their kids...verbally abusing kids, neglecting kids, sexually abusing kids.... I see it as the root of almost every problem in our society."

- Oprah Winfrey

The first step to preventing abuse is to increase awareness and empower people to make a difference. With that in mind, over the years, individual organizations in Douglas County, Oregon have made efforts to increase community awareness of abuse and neglect.

In 2004 a small group of agencies came together around this issue. The momentum has increased and a coalition has been formed.

The Child Abuse Prevention Partnership (CAPP) is a coalition of 30 organizations and businesses that work together to increase awareness and prevent child abuse and neglect in Douglas County. To learn more about becoming a partner, please email us at: info@childabusepreventionpartnership.com
